Using the Paperclip

The paperclip button as seen above can be used to add supporting and reference papers to a reconciliation in Silverfin. When you click on the paperclip symbol it will bring you to this screen:

The middle section here allows you to either drag and drop or browse to any document that is saved on your computer. However, as covered here you should usually save all supporting papers to the Documents area first and then attach to a specific reconciliation via this paperclip function. You will then see these saved papers or folders at the bottom of the above screen: so first, if needed, go to the correct folder and/or select the relevant document. This will then take the document into the top box:

You then need to click the Save button and that document will then be attached and the paperclip symbol will change to:

If you then want to access the document from that reconciliation, you simply click on this symbol, and it will bring up the below screen again:

You can now click on the document name itself (here "Example partnership agreement") and it will then open in a new screen. You can also delete the document by clicking on the trash bin symbol and press Save - note this will not delete the file from the Documents store, just from this particular paperclip/reconciliation.
