Exporting data to Alphatax

Alphatax allows the iXBRL tagged accounts file to be imported directly.  To export this from Silverfin

  • Complete the necessary accounts reconciliations.  To ensure that there are no iXBRL import errors this will need to include fields such as approval date
  • From the Silverfin client home screen select Actions > Download Data
  • Select the iXBRL export file as appropriate for the client
  • Once created select 'Download' and the iXBRL file will be available in the your downloads folder (in Explorer) to be loaded to Alphatax
  • Move the ixbrl file to the client folder (M-Files) as necessary

N.B. When the ixbrl file is downloaded do not click the file to open it and then save from a browser as this will adjust the format of the file and can not be used for filing.  The file imported to Alphatax needs to be imported directly from the downloads folder.

Any additional details required for the tax computation can be gathered from the main reconciliations (working papers) in the Preparation workflow.  Any reconciliation can be exported using the Actions > Download as Excel function in most reconciliations.

In the 'Export' function at the top of the client screen there are a number of standard Tax export bundles that can also be exported if required.
