Export bundles
The Export feature within Silverfin allows PDF documents or packs / bundles to be created containing any data held within Silverfin. This could be data held within any template / reconciliation from any workflow, any document or attachments that have been added to Silverfin or any template documents created. The export feature also allows PDF copies of accounts to be exported.
The 'Export' option is at the top when inside a client record and you will have the main functions at the top
To create a new export, select the bundle / pack required from the 'Choose a bundle' drop down. Once the screen has refreshed you can adjust the contents of the pack as necessary. To see previously run exports (for all users) and to rerun previous exports if data has changed then select export history.
The top box shows the title of the bundle / pack when created. We recommend changing this as applicable e.g. Draft full accounts
With each section within the bundle are the following options
- Clicking and dragging the 'arrows' allows the sections to be reordered
- The middle options (3 lines) opens up the section and extra templates can be added as required
- The bin removes the section
Some sections show a grey placeholder as per below with the instruction in the title of the section. In the example below, select the 'documents' box from the right of the screen and drag it over the grey placeholder. You will then be prompted to select the document you would like to include in this bundle / pack. If the section is not required then select the bin icon. Finally rename the section as appropriate.
Once you are happy with the setup of the bundle / pack then click the 'Generate Export' button. This will take you to the export history screen and after a short while the pack will be created and you will be able to click to open.
The export history screen (above) is grouped by year ending for ease. Click the pack link to open the PDF in a new window. The icons to the right have the following functions
- Bin - delete the bundle / pack
- 'Page' icon (middle) - this will return you to the bundle / pack screen described above however the bundle / pack setup will reflect the one selected. This allows packs to be 'rerun' without having to repeat the changes to text or sections previously made.
- The folder icon (left) allows bundles / packs to be saved within the client Documents area. This allows documents to linked into reconciliations which is required for linking draft or final accounts to the key documents - completion template. By saving bundles / packs to the documents area also allows them to be included in other packs created. This is necessary to add draft accounts into either a client meeting or partner review pack. When you click the folder
- Select the appropriate year being worked on e.g. 2020
- Click the 'move' your file to the folder selected
