Remote Silverfin Training Introduction
We have recently introducing the new accounts production platform into Francis Clark - Silverfin.
There are a number of training courses available based on your role and involvement in accounts production. These are:
Silverfin Preparer Training: Full functionality of Silverfin and a case study example.
Silverfin Reviewer Training: Core functionality and Manager review process.
Silverfin Partner Training: Core functionality and Partner review process.
Silverfin Admin Training: This session covers admin functions
Some managers, dependent on their roles, may be completing multiple sessions. In this case please complete the preparer training first as this will shorten the reviewer training session due to some overlap in core functionality training.
The training will take completed remotely and makes use of the internal help area within Silverfin. All the training is supported by full guidance and videos which can be worked through and repeated if necessary.
We have introduced this software to streamline, standardise and automate our processes where possible, whilst also allowing for better access to and analysis of client's data. It will also ensure the final accounts are drawn from the same data as the working papers, so should eliminate the differences we occasionally see between the two in final reviews. For the majority of clients, it will ultimately replace DAPA/DAP which are not universally popular and are slowly being dropped from support by Digita.
1) Access to Silverfin - You have already been set up with access to Silverfin and can log into Silverfin here https://francisclark.getsilverfin.com/ and there is also a Link on the menu in Frank (just under myFC). Please access using Google Chrome (or the latest Internet Edge if you have this installed). You should be able to access this site using your name@pkf-franciclark.co.uk email address and your normal FC password if required. Please ensure you can login and feel free to explore Silverfin prior to starting your training if you want to, but do not go into any actual clients and make changes. You might like to start exploring the Help function here where there are tailored FC articles and the general (and very extensive) Silverfin help. The FC help pages (use the below symbol at the top right and select ‘PKF FC Help site’) are particularly important as they contain guides to the new ways of processing accounts, as well the firm's new standards and policies on these procedures. If you are unable to access Silverfin please log a ticket with IT support.
2) Access to Silverfin team - We will be using Teams to provide further support on Silverfin here, please ensure you can access the Silverfin Team
3) The Silverfin preparer session covers about 9 hours of training so it is suggested to break into sessions as follows
Introduction – Preparation & introduction sessions (Preparation & FC introduction)
Session 1 – Overview, client creation and planning (working Exercise section to section 4.1)
Session 2 – Working papers / preparation (section 4.2 to 5.3)
Session 3 – Accounts and completion, queries (section 5.4 to end)
The training exercise is based around a case study and a test client has been created for you to work through. Using the search function locate specific client set up for you called "Z Your Name FC Silverfin Training Co", if you enter your name then your client should be listed. If this is not available them please contact IT Support for this to be created. IMPORTANT – it is vital that you use your personal training client for the training.
4) To access the training sessions, log into Silverfin and then select the help icon (as per below image) and then select 'PKF FC Help Site'.
