Removing a Software Sync to Upload Manual Data
Guidance:
There may be occasions where you require to remove a software sync and manually upload data. This may be for Sage clients where the data has synchronised into Silverfin and you want to remove the connection to avoid the data being accidentally overwritten if the Sage license is reused.
To do this.
Step-by-Step:
- Go to the Client Overview page for the client.
- Click Edit Client on the top right.
- Select the 'Sync' tab/section. You will see that it has the details of the existing sync, so Sage, Xero, QBO etc.
- Click the pencil icon beside the Data Synchronisation heading.
- Select the option in the middle that says "From current system synchronisation to manual upload".
- You will then get a yellow bar confirming that this has been done.
If you want to reinstate the sync later:
- Go to the Client Overview page for the client.
- Click Edit Client on the top right.
- Select the 'Sync' tab/section. You will see that it says "Manually Uploaded".
- Click the button 'Set Up Sync'
- Select the option at the top that says "Switch from manual uploading to an automatic synchronisation".
- On the Synchronisation type dropdown, select the software you wish to use. If it is a Sage client, you would select the appropriate Sage Version.
- You should then start to type the client's location on the Sage drive, picking the correct office and company number (usually tqcompany.XXX for Torquay).
- You would then enter the Username and Password.
- Select an appropriate "Transfer date" to ensure that it is after the period that you have manually imported the data for if applicable.
- Click Save Changes.
