Replacing a Xero sync with a Xero TB only sync (or vice versa!)

If you have a Xero sync already set up but you need to amend it to a Xero TB only sync (this is when a client has a Xero Premium subscription, using multi-currency bookkeeping) - it's really easy to make this change.

To ensure that there are no issues when changing the sync the process is in two stages

  1. Disconnect the existing Xero sync
  2. Set up the Xero TB Only (FX) sync

to disconnect the sync, click the Edit Client button on the far right of the Client Overview screen:

Select the 'Sync' tab / section and below the Xero connection click the 'Disconnect' from Xero link:

Then click the Save Changes button at the top.  Once the changes have been saved then you will be able to set up the new sync.

Click the Edit Client button on the far right of the Client Overview screen and select the 'Sync' tab / section, select 'Set up sync' and select the top option to switch from manual uploading to an automatic synchronisation.

You would then select from the dropdown, Link with Xero only TB (FX) connection and click Save Changes:

Log into Xero and select the client from the list and click Allow Access:

The data will then sync as required.

Similarly, if you need to switch from a TB only sync back to a full sync.  You follow the same process as above, except you select Link with Xero connection and click Save Changes at the Synchronisation type stage above:

Everything else is the same.
